The lodge was originally built as a hunting lodge for The Countess Mataxa of Connemara. There is a variety of activities to choose from - take a stroll down the driveway and spend the day fishing on Lough Corrib, golf at the local 18 hole golf course or walk the illustrious Western Way through some of the most glorious and unspoiled Beaches & Scenery in Europe. Take your picnic basket and explore majestic Connemara where so many personalities including King Edward V11, Maharaja Jam Sahib, Sir William Wilde, his son Oscar and William Butler Yeats were inspired by the mystical beauty of this extraordinary landscape. Kitchen: This self-catering cottage has a Galley type kitchen integrated into the Dining /living room which includes a 2 hob electric cooker with oven, Slow Cooker, under unit fridge, microwave, sink and all the usual kitchen utensils toaster, coffee maker, kettle etc., and picnic basket.
Personal Laundry can be left in "Oughterard Laundry" Camp Street.
