Location

This property from the late 1880’s(approx.) to 1919 was known as Dillon’s Bridge RIC Barracks. On the night of October 31st 1919, the R.I.C Barracks was raided by the Volunteers (I.R.A.) in the search of weapons to strengthen their endeavours. Shots were fired and the police sergeant, Sgt Matthews was seriously wounded. The barracks were later burned down in April 1920 by the volunteers. Part of the original walls of the building are still there today and form part of the boundary wall. The current property was built in 1992/ 1993. The idyllic setting amongst rolling countryside in the heart of the renowned Boyne Valley coupled with the close proximity to major towns, Dublin City, places of interest and less than 1.3km from the Hill of Tara ensures the Blundelstown address is a most prestigious one.

The house is situated on the R147 providing easy access of the M3 motorway and only 20 minutes from the M1. In the neighbouring village communities such as Lismullen and Skryne there are a host of amenities to choose from including National Schools, Churches, post-office, shops and pubs. The bustling town of Navan is only a short drive away along the R147. The town provides a wide choice of facilities, including several shopping centres, the largest of which offers a choice of over 65 shops and services, restaurants, pubs and 6-screen cinema, Our County Library, The Solstice Arts Centre with comedy and musical shows, art exhibitions and much more.

For the more necessary of services there are several pre-, primary and secondary schools and Our Lady’s Hospital. For those who commute daily or make any regular trip to the Capital there is ease of access on account of close proximity to the R147 and M3 motorway. This property enjoys the best of both worlds; rural living with access to all urban conveniences
